Acer unveils a slew of new Switch laptops and detachables

The new Swift series notebooks replace the plastic chassis designs with a new all-aluminum bodies.

During the conference, Acer put their laptop range front and center. The Swift 1 also includes ultra-fast 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac wireless technology for quality Wi-Fi connectivity. The Acer Aspire 1 series will be available in North America in June starting at $219; and in EMEA in June starting at €249. In addition to the 7th generation Intel Core processor, it comes with the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card, up to 32 GB of RAM, and up to 2 TB of HDD storage or 512 GB of SSD storage. Both models also support the Micro SDXC slot, a thin and reversible USB 3.1 Type-C port, an additional USB 3.1 Type-A port and Bluetooth 4.0.

Although it features a similar design, it's thinner at 9.6mm thick and offers a smarter kickstand that you can push down or pull up with one hand thanks to a new self-retracting design (it also boasts the same 165-degree range of movement as the Switch 3). The 12.2-inch display is created to deliver incredible precision and a responsive 10-point touch experience. The large trackpad supports convenient and intuitive navigation with Precision Touchpads supporting Windows 10 gestures to provide a smooth and responsive experience. As for storage and memory, expect up to 512GB of SSD storage and 8GB of RAM from the Switch 5, and expect up to 128GB of storage and up to 4GB of RAM from the Switch 3. The notebook measures less than 18mm in height and weighs just 1.65 kg, making it one of the lightest notebook available in the market.

Coming to the Swift series, the company has unveiled two new laptops including Acer Swift 1 and Swift 3.

The depth sensor in the camera even lets you blur the background behind you, making your outfit pop amidst your surroundings. Instead, you have to request an invitation, and Amazon will email you an offer to purchase it if you're selected.

The Aspire 5 can handle photo editing and a media-heavy lifestyle, according to Acer, as it's powered by a 7th-generation Intel Core processors, latest NVIDIA GeForce graphics, and a maximum of 20GB DDR4 2400 MHz memory. The notebook boasts up to 10 hours of battery life, the notebook support Windows Hello through fingerprint readers for fast and secure logins.

With a 12-inch wide-view FHD+ touch display with IPS technology, the Switch 5 provides 2160 x 1440 resolution with support from Intel HD Graphics 620.

The Switch 5's keyboard is backlit for added convenience while working in darker environments. Acer says the Switch 5 will offer 10.5 hours of battery life on a single charge.
