Call of Duty: WWII release date and first details revealed

While details are admittedly quite brief right now, female Call of Duty fans, fans of colour, or even just history buffs will be glad to see that women and people of colour are featured in every part of the game.

First off, screenshots showing off snippets of the game were apparently posted on the Call of Duty login page. "This game will let longtime fans experience World War II like never before, and will introduce this historic conflict to a whole new generation of gamers in the process".

Infinite Warfare still was the best-selling game of the year, but for the series it did underperform, while Battlefield 1 did wonders for EA, that the path became pretty clear.

Although the Call of Duty franchise has focused on modern warfare scenarios for some time, its first editions were set in WWII.

Toward the top of the promotional piece is PS4 branding along with information regarding a PS4 exclusive private beta, which will be made available to all consumers who pre-order the game.

As promised, Activision and Sledgehammer Games have full revealed Call of Duty: WWII this afternoon.

The game will launch on 3 November for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

In a livestream sporting the worldwide reveal of Call of Duty: WWII, Activision has officially announced the release date of the next entry in the Call of Duty franchise.

Stated in the leaked marketing copy, the co-op mode is listed as a "new and original story" that's a "standalone game experience" - suggesting more than simply a bunch of co-op missions. Players will be controlling "Red" Daniels; a Private in the 1st Infantry Division.

According to devs at Sledgehammer, Call of Duty WWII is shaping up to be the studio's biggest project yet.

Multiplayer marks a return to iconic boots on the ground Call of Duty gameplay that fans know and love, featuring an arsenal of World War II-era weapons, and fast-paced, heart-pumping, intense run-and-gun action.
