United States declines to specify damage from massive bomb in Afghanistan

An Afghanistan-based news agency said on Tuesday that 13 Indians were killed in the Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB) attack by the US military in Achin district of Nangarhar province last week.

The TTP and Lashkar-e-Taiba members were from the Orakzai tribe.

The news agency Pajhwok reported that an unarmed security official confirmed the death of the Indian nationals including at least two commanders identified just as Mohammad and Allah Gupta.

In meetings of the Afghan security council, some ministers told President Ashraf Ghani they feared the dearth of information from the USA side could be exploited by Islamic State, which has continued radio broadcasts claiming that none of its fighters were killed."We haven't suffered any casualties from this bomb", said one recent Islamic State broadcast.

"The MOAB bombing was a serious mission".

Thirteen Indian nationals who had joined Daesh were among those killed in the MOAB bombing in Afghanistan's Achin district.

"Daesh affiliates pose serious threats to the people; their operatives beheaded children in Sayyad district of Sar-e-Pul and set homes ablaze and plundered assets belonging to the people", said MP Sayed Hussain Sharifi Balkhabi. "There are reports also that two Indian Daesh terrorists also died earlier in a drone attack in the Afghanistan-Pakistan region", security expert Qamar Agha told Sputnik.
