Eric Bailly: Manchester United's young players "should receive criticism" from Jose Mourinho

Eric Bailly: Manchester United's young players

De Gea was absent as United beat Sunderland at the weekend but the Spain stopper has travelled to Belgium as United take on Anderlecht in the Europa League.

Now lying fifth in the Premier League, United must either move up at least a place and finish in the top four, or win the Europa League in order to qualify for next season's Champions League.

But when asked about De Gea's situation Mourinho said: "I don't see David with any problem related to this".

"We have to treat every game in that competition now like it's a final", the full-back stressed to the press.

With the season coming to an end, the transfer rumours are slowly starting.

Jose Mourinho's side progressed to the last eight of the Europa League after a 2-1 aggregate win over FC Rostov in the previous round.

United are reportedly in a strong negotiating position because they do not need to raise funds for their summer spending spree, and so their demands for a player in exchange for De Gea may come to fruition.

"We played with the players available [against Sunderland]", Mourinho said to MUTV.

"He has a bad feeling with his ankle and he's not ready yet".

"For me this coach is very important for us and every young player at Manchester United".

Led by Jose Mourinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, The Red Devils are riding a 21-match undefeated run across all contests, as well as though their Premier League hasn't occurred as expected, they've enough pedigree to become difference makers in Europe. "It's a trophy and it gives us qualification for the Champions League". We feel it is possible and Anderlecht will feel that too.

But United aren't going to let a player who has won the last three Player of the Year awards leave without a fight.

On the flip side, Manchester United aren't where they would like to take the Premier League standings, however they have been trending in the appropriate path.

"We have to go with everything for both competitions, we still have two open doors".
