Putin ready to meet Trump in Finland if it hosts summit

MOSCOW (CNN) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has described allegations that his country meddled in the 2016 U.S. election as "fictional, illusory, provocations and lies".

Putin condemned their calls on Thursday."Such appeals to Russian Federation are purely political aimed at applying pressure on the country's domestic political life", he said.

'Watch my lips, no, ' Putin said. Of course, it was actually former President George H.W. Bush who made that infamous statement in 1988.

He dismissed such claims as "lies" and "provocations", saying the contacts that Russian diplomats made in the USA were just part of their routine work.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is certain that corruption must be fought against, but using this theme for achieving political aims before elections is wrong.

"I think it's not in the interest of the American people to carry Russian-American relations to the point of absurdity, just to benefit the inner political agenda", Putin continued.

Putin also said the USA had developed an anti-missile defense system which had created what he described as one of the most serious security problems in the world.

The Arctic Council, a high-level intergovernmental forum set up in 1996, consists of Russia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and the United States.

According to the EIA, several factors appear to have contributed to the rise in the U.S. crude oil exports in 2016. Brent crude oil futures gained 0.58 dollar or 1.14 percent to close at USD 51.33 a barrel at NYMEX.

It is not the first time Mr Putin has floated the idea of a meeting with Mr Trump.

Reuters later reported that Putin said that Moscow would support Trump in fighting terrorism and cooperate with the Pentagon and Central Intelligence Agency. "We know very well what that led to, what bloody events in the region that led to", Putin said.

"If we try to contain someone by such unsafe methods as regional conflicts, it will end up with global catastrophes and global conflicts", Putin said.

More than 1,000 people were arrested in Moscow on Sunday during an anti-corruption protest, one of the largest unauthorised rallies to take place during Putin's 17 years in power as president or prime minister. "I hope that we will eventually come to constructive cooperation".

The G20 summit is scheduled for July 7-8 in Hamburg, Germany.

Earlier this year, Slovenia offered to host a meeting between Mr Putin and Mr Trump. We do not prevent it, on the contrary, we encourage it, he commented.
