'We actually beat up Justin Trudeau,' Matthew Perry recalls on Kimmel

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Ivanka Trump attended the Broadway show Come From Away in NY on Wednesday, an evening rich with symbolism because the play centers on welcoming of foreigners in need.

"I think he was the only kid in school we could beat up", lamented Perry, whose mother once worked as a press aide for Trudeau's father, former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. The reason? As best as Perry can recall, it was pure jealousy. "But I think it was rather instrumental in him going to such great heights and becoming the prime minister", he said.

"I'm not bragging about this", Perry was quick to clarify.

Perry said he had been recently reminded of the incident by a friend who had also participated in the attack. 'I think he was the only kid in school we could beat up.

He can't deal with all these demands at the match , what matches? "So I think in the fourth year , he deserved to be sacked". But Mourinho believes such adversity can bring United - and supporters - closer together. "We thought it was really hard".

The Times story observes that Trudeau's political focus on welcoming refugees "has been at odds with the harsher stance of the Trump administration", which makes it particularly interesting that he brought Ivanka Trump to "a Broadway show that celebrates generosity toward foreigners in need".

Mr Trudeau and Ms Trump had met previously when she helped host a summit on women business leaders and entrepreneurs when the Canadian prime minister visited Washington earlier this year. "And, you know, we beat him up", the Friends actor recalled.

The actor said he has not spoken to Trudeau to apologize but added, "I feel shame. In fact, I think at point, I tried to turn it into a love play".

Mr. Perry, who remains a dual citizen in America and Canada, said he hasn't had any contact with Mr. Trudeau in their adult lives.
