United sweet on short Euro trip amid fixture chaos

Man United manager Mourinho was Karanka's senior at Real Madrid before he was appointed by 'Boro and the Portuguese manager defended his former-student.

Mourinho was aggrieved United's Europa League game against FC Rostov on Thursday was sandwiched between an FA Cup quarter-final at Chelsea last Monday and a midday league game at Middlesbrough on Sunday.

"I've never heard so much garbage in my life", Keane said in his post-match analysis. Why do we have to listen to that garbage?

"Looking at their next fixtures though, caretaker Steve Agnew might as well send a team out to have a free hit against worn out United - whilst taking Mourinho's "probably lose" comments with a cellar full of salt". He can't deal with all these demands at the match, what matches? "So I think in the fourth year, he deserved to be sacked".

Defender Marcos Rojo was seen eating a banana to increase his energy levels.

A delay to the team plane arriving in London meant Mourinho and his squad were forced into a long coach trip north which saw the team arrive back at their home base at 4:00am local time (0400 GMT), eight hours before their next scheduled training session.

"He's talking about the player collapsing".

Thursday's win set up a two-legged Europa League quarter-final tie against Anderlecht next month, but also added to the fixture congestion that has left Mourinho deeply unhappy.

Pastor discovers 706-carat diamond in village
According to a report on BBC , Pastor Momoh discovered the diamond, weighing 706 carats in Kono district, Sierra Leone . That gem is second in size only to the 3,106- carat uncut Cullinan diamond which was unearthed in South Africa in 1905.

Defender Daley Blind is a doubt, and to top it all off, Paul Pogba, the world's most expensive player, is out with a hamstring injury.

"But of course, he was one of the players who never had a rest because he's played every game".

While most pundits would have said something less ferocious and ultimately sympathised with Jose because the club do have a lot of fixtures to play in a short space of time, Keane made his point from personal experience.

"We are not ready to be Manchester United".

But Mourinho believes such adversity can bring United - and supporters - closer together.

"We thought it was really hard".

The club's assistant manager has stepped in as caretaker after the Spaniard's stormy three-and-a-half year reign was brought to an end with the Teessiders second-bottom of the Premier League and in danger of an immediate return to the Championship. "The EFL Cup is not enough to say that the season is over".
