Former 'Power Rangers' actor admits killing roommate with sword

An actor best known for his role on the "Power Rangers" television series has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the killing of his roommate in 2015, officials said.

Medina was accused of stabbing the roommate, 36-year-old Josh Sutter, with a samurai sword in an argument over Medina's girlfriend on January 31, 2015. According to reports, Medina and his roommate, Josh Sutter, got into a heated argument over the actor's girlfriend on January 31, 2015. Medina then stabbed him with the sword he kept near his bedroom door.

Ricardo Medina Jr. now faces up to six years in a federal prison. He faces six years in state prison. According to The Huffington Post, Medina claimed the stabbing was in self-defense. As things unfortunately escalated, Medina grabbed a sword they had around the apartment and started repeatedly stabbing Sutter, who died soon afterward.

He entered his plea Thursday in Antelope Valley court, one year after he was charged with murder.

The murder occurred after Medina and Stutter became engaged in an argument over the former's ex girlfriend.

Josh's father Donald Sutter, however, denied the possibility that his late son may have been the aggressor in his fatal argument with Medina, according to a report from the Chicago Tribune.

After playing Red Wild Force Ranger on Fox Kids and ABC Kids' Wild Force, Medina got a second kick at the Power Rangers can in 2012.

A Power Rangers: Samurai actor brought the show to life in a deadly attack, has learned. His other acting credits include a 2003 episode of "E.R." and a 2004 episode of "CSI: Miami".
