Sukhoi-30MKI fighter plane crashes in Barmer, pilots safe

A Sukhoi fighter aircraft of the IAF crashed near Barmer in Rajasthan this afternoon. It has also been learned that both the pilots ejected the plane minutes before the crash safely. Meanwhile, the three people who had been injured in the crash have been rushed to a hospital in Barmer city, where they are undergoing treatment. "Air Force officials have been informed about the incident", Lal said. The local police have reached at the spot and are handling the situation.

Two accidents in one day cost the Indian Air Force a Sukhoi-30MKI jet and a Chetak helicopter. Both the pilots were confirmed safe.

Last year, in September, a MiG-21 aircraft had crashed in the same area. The fuselage of the aircraft landed on the hut of Narayan Ram, injuring him, his daughter-in-law Dalli and grandson Hanuman.

The first goal was important but it was down to how we approached the game. It's a shame that I can not keep everybody happy. Ten minutes later, they're absolutely rubbish.

Earlier today, a Chetak helicopter on a routine training sortie from Bamrauli, Allahabad, had developed a technical failure.

According to reports, the aircraft had suffered a tyre burst during the landing.

In 2015, the then Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar had said that the IAF doesn't intend to ground its fleet of Sukhoi SU-30MKI combat jets despite a sixth plane crashing in six year.
