Has Syracuse basketball done enough to make the NCAA Tournament?

A flawless bracket will probably need a first round without many upsets by 13-16 seeds in order for the masses to have a legitimate shot at perfection, as those are the games that primarily ruin a majority of the brackets. As regular-season champion, though, Oakland will get its first-ever NIT bid, but hosting a first-round game looks like a long shot.

They beat out Duke for the No. 1 seed in this region after the Blue Devils beat them and won the ACC. So both Duke and North Carolina would have to win five games for the NCAA matchup to finally happen in the title game.

But, results like Kansas State winning make them more likely to drop out.

The 2017 NCAA Tournament selections for men's basketball will be unveiled Sunday evening starting at 5:30 p.m. EDT on CBS. But a Friday loss to Duke (27-8, 11-7 ACC) knocked UNC out of the ACC Tournament and jeopardized its chance of earning a top seed in the NCAA Tournament.

It's the most wonderful, most nerve-wracking time of the year for college basketball fans. Let's hope that they can use Friday's game as motivation during the Tournament and remember that the '05 and '09 National Championship teams didn't win the ACC Tournament.

Add in the injuries that the team dealt with all season as well as Krzyzewski's absence, and things seem to be tilting toward a No. 1 for Duke. Sure these games were at home, but if you're telling me a team on the bubble could pull these kinds of wins off, you are surely mistaken.

The VCU rams ended up in the West region with the No. 10 seed.
