Projected first-round pick Sidney Jones injures leg at Pro Day

Jones had his left leg elevated as the cart left the facility.

Cornerback Sidney Jones was carted off with an apparent left leg injury Saturday at Washington's pro day.

Jones was helped to his feet and leaned upon his coach to shuffle off the field towards a trainer's cart, drawing a hush from the crowd of media, family members and an estimated 50 National Football League talent evaluators as he was driven out of the facility.

Budda Baker, the former UW defensive back who also worked out on Saturday, said he was about to go visit Jones in the training room. "Definitely sad, but we know Sidney's strong and he's going to still be there".

Martellus Bennett Signs With Green Bay Packers
Hyde has been a four-year starter at Green Bay since being selected in the fifth-round from Iowa in the 2013 draft. The Chicago Bears tried multiple times to sign free agent tight ends last offseason and came up short.

The injury, which resulted in Jones' left leg being put in an air cast, could be a major hit for his prospects in next month's NFL Draft.

His injury reportedly came on the last drill of the day.

After posting some of the best numbers at his position during the combine, the 6-foot-3, 200-pound King looked smooth in his position drills, further cementing his status as a likely first-or second-round pick.
