Messenger just became the latest Facebook app to launch a Stories feature

The launch of Instagram Stories a year ago is thought to have contributed to Snapchat's slowing growth in the third quarter, which was revealed in its IPO documents.

It's integrated smart bots so you can use it like an assistant.

First make sure you've updated your Messenger app so you have the latest version.

There are also more visual effects in Messenger Day than some of the competitors.

In that sense, it is much like Snapchat and ephemeral in nature. According to Facebook VP of messaging David Marcus, who spoke with TechCrunch, this will let Facebook Messenger users snap a quick photo, add a frame, and see if any of their friends are up for going grab a coffee or watching a movie, without having to text individual people or post on Facebook itself.

Once you're on the latest update, you can get started by jumping into the full-screen camera or by ticking "My Day" in your inbox.

Open Messenger and tap on the camera.

And the star has admitted producer Jack Antonoff "pushed" her a lot whilst creating the album. "Get you wild, make you leave". The New Zealand-born singer-songwriter reveals she had an epiphany which led her to the new single.

Add any art effects you like through the smiley face icon in the top right. Snapchat's success has inspired a lot of copycats.

Take a selfie, photo, or video of something you want to share.

When complete, tap on the arrow in the bottom right-hand corner, and then the app will ask you if you want to save it to your Day, save it to your phone's camera roll, or send it to a specific person or group.

"Since everything you add disappears after 24 hours, feel free to add as often as you want". Now where the recipient list shows up, right above the camera roll option, (after the update) you will now see a "My Day" option, which is basically the stories feature.

Facebook's approach seems to be more about putting a ceiling on Snapchat's user growth than stealing from its existing user base.

In the presentation note it is possible to see several captures with the operation of this new application within Messenger. Messenger Day lets you chronicle your day in order from start to finish, creating a timeline of photos and videos augmented with plenty of filters and stickers along the way. So, Facebook allows you to customize how you share by tapping the "more" icon and then choosing "Everyone Except" or "Custom".

Facebook announced Thursday that its new feature Messenger Day is rolling out globally on Android and iOS. And if your contact has added something to their day, you will be able to see that too.
