Browns to sign Kenny Britt to four-year deal

WR Terrelle Pryor is signing a one-year deal with Washington, per sources.

Pryor went over the 1,000-yard mark in his first full year as a wide receiver with the Browns, but wanted a bigger contract from the Browns. The reported terms of Britt's deal was $32.5 million dollars over four years.

Britt gives the Browns another playmaker in case they are unable to re-sign Terrelle Pryor, who hasn't been able to work out a deal with Cleveland and has drawn interest from other teams.

In addition, the $16 million the Browns will pay quarterback Brock Osweiler in 2017 would sure have been nice to have now to keep Pryor in the brown and orange.

He instantly becomes one of the top receivers in D.C., given the departures of Pierre Garςon and DeSean Jackson - both of whom had more than 1,000 yards receiving in 2016.

Pryor's signing could free up Jamison Crowder to remain in the slot receiver position if Josh Doctson is healthy and plays regularly in 2017. It hasn't been released if the Redskins made an offer, but if the Browns are committed to getting Pryor back, they might have to bump their offer up. Had Pryor returned, the Browns would've had a pair of 1,000-yard receivers, along with Corey Coleman, for whoever starts at quarterback next season. He kept working, spent the final games of the 2015 season with the Browns and emerged as a legitimate receiver in the team's offseason work.
