Maddux dons beard for prank, fools Cubs' Bryant with curve

And as the video shows, the disguise seemed to fool Bryant.

The reveal came when the pitcher asked Bryant to sign the bat "to Greg Maddux". Kris Bryant was sauntering his way through a shooting for a Red Bull promo when an "unscheduled" pitching change threw the Cubs' third baseman off his game.

As Bryant took swings for the ad, the sound guy critiqued his hitting, which obviously annoyed him. In 2016, he helped the Cubs win their first World Series title in 108 years and won the NL MVP.

The Hall of Famer got the last laugh, as it was the 25-year-old superstar who had trouble hitting the four-time Cy Young award winner's curveball. Bryant chuckled dismissively when the "sound guy" was giving him tips from behind the batting cage.

Maddux, who played 11 seasons with the Braves, is now an assistant baseball coach at UNLV, where his son, Chase, is a sophomore pitcher.

Then, the batting practice pitcher (who was in on the prank) said he had to go proctor a study hall for college players because another coach bailed.
