NBA Exploring G-League Sponsorship Deal for D

NBA Exploring G-League Sponsorship Deal for D

There were rumblings but now it's official: the NBA Development League, or D-League, will be re-branding to the NBA Gatorade League or, get ready for this, the G-League. Tatum says the league will use the institute's "sports science expertise and knowledge to enhance player performance in our game" through nutrition, training and other advances.

The 37-year old veteran goes through a series of tests aimed to provide information on how Wilkins can continue to optimize his performance.

"The NBA D-League has prepared hundreds of players for the NBA and Gatorade has always been focused on fueling players to perform at the highest level", NBA deputy commissioner Mark Tatum said.

The soon to be renamed "G-League" is now made up of 22 teams, but three more teams will be added at the start of the 2017-18 season, bringing the National Basketball Association closer to a full 30-team farm system.

The new G-League logo, which features Gatorade's insignia on the lower right, will be featured on game balls, jerseys, on-court signage and digital assets, the league announced.

Large Outflow of Money Witnessed in Ford Motor Company
The auto manufacturer reported $1.28 earnings per share ( EPS ) for the quarter, topping the consensus estimate of $1.17 by $0.11. Finally, Anchor Bolt Capital LP increased its position in shares of General Motors Company by 22.0% in the second quarter.

Gatorade and the G-League will also collaborate on behind-the-scenes video content which will capture players on their respective journeys, highlighting a shared commitment to enhancing performance through innovation.

Founded as a league to develop NBA talent, the NBA D-League has become an integral part of the NBA family, with 40 percent of current NBA players having spent time in the NBA D-League and four current NBA head coaches starting as coaches on NBA D-League benches.

The deal is far from final, reports Ad Age, but they are advanced enough for the branding to be discussed outside league offices.

The issue is whether fans will be interested in following a league that's so aggressively sponsored. And if they were really smart, players should get in on this action, just to see Vander Blue Gatorade's name in lights.
