Kevin Love out of Cleveland Cavaliers lineup following surgery

Kevin Love out of Cleveland Cavaliers lineup following surgery

Cavaliers forward Kevin Love's sore left knee will sideline him for at least one game and could keep him out of the All-Star game.

The surgery, performed by Dr. David Altchek on Tuesday in NY, removed a "loose body" from the knee.

Love has been ruled out of Tuesday's National Basketball Association game against the Timberwolves, his former team, and there is a strong possibility he'll miss more time.

With his shooting percentages up from the field, three-point range and free-throw line over the previous two years with the Cavaliers, Love raised his offensive productivity by almost four points per game and helped the team to a two-game lead in the Eastern Conference. Just next man up.

Love will miss this weekend's All-Star game. It was his first invite to the February festivities since joining the Cavs in 2014, and fourth overall. Having already dealt an injured Chris Anderson and cash to clear roster space, the Cavs have put themselves in a position to continue acquiring pieces.

Averaging 20.1 points, 11.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and almost one steal per game, Love has had his best season with the Cavaliers since being traded from the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Cavaliers have yet to release details of the magnetic resonance imaging scan, but are said to be concerned Love may be out for a considerable amount of time they are sending him to another doctor. Guys have got to step up and be ready to play.

The Cavaliers (37-16) have a two-game lead over the Boston Celtics for the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

The King, in my very biased opinion of course, will be the best basketball player to have ever lived (objectively, I can't say he is right now).

Zverev denies Gasquet Montpellier hat-trick
With both players enjoying winning 86% of their first serve points, an inevitable tiebreak was needed to decide the set. Gasquet, ranked 22, has never before faced Zverev, who is ranked 21. "We only dropped one set".

Cleveland's strategy has been a heavy dose of Love in the first quarter, Irving in the third and James filling in the gaps and taking over as needed.

"I've never stepped down", he said.

"As long as I'm in the lineup, we've got a chance", James said Tuesday morning. We good. Kev is out. J.R. has been out.

James quickly dismissed any concerns about his workload, saying he's carried that burden for his entire career.

According to the Cavs, Love experienced the pain in Saturday's win over Denver. "Not feeling sorry for ourselves".

The Cavs (37-16) lead the Eastern Conference, though the Boston Celtics and the Washington Wizards have been the superior teams since January 1 and it's now somewhat feasible that the No. 1 seed is truly up for grabs.

"Always concerned when guys are going down", Lue said in a report by the Associated Press. "The games we discussed he could possibly be out in March, we'll look forward to that".

Alas, the Cavaliers remain the favorite in the Eastern Conference, and as long s they can find their way to the Finals at full health by the end of this year, they will have a shot at the title, and there's quite a bit of solace to be taken in that. And every round we've played in, we've won on an opposing team's floor. "And I know we will".
