LSU QB Brandon Harris announces intent to become graduate transfer

Brandon Harris will transfer from the LSU Tigers football program after being granted a full release by head coach Ed Orgeron.

"To my teammates (who) I shared a bond with (its) been fun and special (and) I look forward to cheering you guys on next season". Lastly, I'll like to thank anyone who has impacted me over the last three years I'm forever and can't thank you enough, " Harris tweeted.

Harris played in four games previous year, completing 13-of-25 passing attempts, for 139 yards and one touchdown.

Another offseason, another former LSU starting quarterback has made a decision to move on.

20000 in Mexico City protest Donald Trump's border policies
Trump has pledged to build a wall along the US border with Mexico and criticizes USA companies who outsource jobs to the country. Many people within the crowd held up signs saying "Respect Mexico" and "we are all Mexico" at the rally, the LA Times reported.

Harris' departure leaves LSU with four scholarship quarterbacks on its roster going into spring practice.

Harris, a top-5 ranked dual-threat quarterback in the 2014 signing class, started 15 games during his career in Baton Rouge and served as the Tigers' starting QB for the 2015 season. Danny Etling was LSU's quarterback for the remainder of the season after taking over in-game against Jacksonville State.

Even so, the up-and-coming signal plans on graduating and ultimately being eligible to play at the collegiate level in 2017. Etling went 7-3 as a starter in 2016, passing for 2,123 yards with 11 touchdowns and five interceptions. He also rushed for 370 yards and seven scores.

Etling returns for his senior season in 2017, as do sophomore Justin McMillan and redshirt freshman Lindsay Scott. Fellow quarterback recruit, Myles Brennan, will arrive in the summer.
