Villa now favourites for Hogan

Aston Villa have agreed a £15 million deal with fellow Championship side for striker Scott Hogan, according to Sky Sports.

The news of Hogan's deal has been greeted with mixed reviews by some Villa fans with some questioning the price tag and his previous injuries whilst others are delighted at the news of another big money signing.

But it was the capture of Hogan which captured the headlines as Villa sealed the signing of a player who for much of the month had looked destined for a move to the Premier League and West Ham.

He is now set to join Aston Villa in a move that could cost the Championship club up to £15million. "So we are good in that department and that is the reason behind my decision".

Facebook considers signals like your proximity to the person or page posting, or likes, comments and shares to rank content. The other change is to give higher priority to current discussions or hot topics, and show posts that are more timely.

As it has turned out though, the transfer to West Ham has not materialized for Hogan and now Crystal Palace are said to have emerged as the frontrunners to secure the services of the ex-Rochdale star.

The Hammers' decision to withdraw their interest in the 24-year-old reportedly paves the way for Hogan to make the move to Villa Park.

Villa have not confirmed the sum they are paying for Hogan, but it is claimed to be a deal which could be worth up to £12m for the Bees.

Hogan will be charged with helping Villa climb away from the foot of the Championship table and can not wait to start work with Steve Bruce's side after bidding farewell to Brentford.
